Out of all of the preseason rankings out there, the SBNation BlogPoll is obviously the best indicator of how well college football teams are ranked, (sarcasm there if you did not catch that all preseason polls are just guess work). I being the lazy one of our college football group forgot to post this yesterday, so here it is today.
First off Boise State is the only Mountain West team to get a look and they come in at No. 23 which is a one spot drop from the prior preseason BlogPoll. At the top it is very crowded with USC and Alabama barely separated, but it is the Trojans who claim the top spot by earning 32 first place votes compared to 23 for the Crimson Tide.
Somehow Texas got a first place vote, and that came from SB Nation's Ohio State blog, Land-Grant Holy Land. Apparently I have not changed Utah as my primary team so our ballot won an award -- well being in the top five -- for being the most homer, and that was with Utah not even being ranked in the top 25.
# | Blog | Team | Ballot | Bias |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Barking Carnival | Texas Longhorns | ballot | 10.52 |
2 | Mountain West Connection | Utah Utes | ballot | 7.62 |
3 | Eleven Warriors | Ohio St. Buckeyes | ballot | 4.75 |
4 | Garnet and Black Attack | South Carolina Gamecocks | ballot | 4.20 |
5 | Frogs O' War | TCU Horned Frogs | ballot | 3.13 |
Now here is the poll, after the jump:
