It was reported back in July that the Colorado St. Rams have worked out a deal to have nine local games broadcast on KTVD Channel 20, but deal has been modified to seven games. No need for Colorado State fans to worry as those other two games are actually going to be on Root Sports (three in total) so there no loss coverage with the coverage dropped down to seven games.
With this deal finalized with KTVD Channel 20, Colorado State has 11 games on television, with the 12th being on ESPN3:
"We are pleased we were able to finalize this agreement with 9News," [athletic director] Graham said. "It was very important to us to ensure that all Ram football games would be on the air, and we are excited that we were able to achieve that with a prominent and terrific partner in 9News on Channel 20. It will be easy and convenient for our fans to find our games and follow Colorado State football."
Even though it is local games, it is still good for the greater Denver area to see Colorado State play.
Here is Colorado State's 2012 football schedule with television broadcasts (all times Mountain):
Sept. 1 Colorado 2 p.m. F/X
Sept. 8 North Dakota State 5 p.m. KTVD Channel 20
Sept. 15 at San Jose State 6 p.m. ESPN3.com
Sept. 22 Utah State 5 p.m. KTVD Channel 20
Sept. 29 at Air Force 12 noon Altitude
Oct. 6 Fresno State 5 p.m. KTVD Channel 20
Oct. 13 at San Diego State 4:30 p.m. KTVD Channel 20
Oct. 27 Hawaii 5 p.m. KTVD Channel 20
Nov. 3 at Wyoming 2:30 p.m. KTVD Channel 20
Nov. 10 UNLV 5 p.m. KTVD Channel 20
Nov. 17 at Boise State 1:30 p.m. NBC Sports Network
Nov. 24 New Mexico 5 p.m. Root Sports
That is a much better slate compared to what it was when the initial television announcements came down and Colorado State had just one game on television. There still needs to be something done about the Border War, and maybe there is still a chance that Altitude could get in the game and air another Colorado State game.
