The Air Force Falcons had a series set up with a top notch Big 12 foe in the Oklahoma St. Cowboys in a home-and-home series for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. The 2015 game was scheduled for Sept. 5 at Falcon Stadium with the 2016 game being played on Sept. 10 at Boone Pickens Stadium.

However, the two schools mutually agreed to cancel the series. Part of the reason was because with the Big 12 in a nine-game conference schedule, and Oklahoma State had four conference games in 2015 so one opponent had to be dropped. The other three opponents that Oklahoma State had scheduled are home games against Central Arkansas and University of Texas-San Antonio; then a road game against Central Michigan.

With the Air Force game in 2015 a road game for Oklahoma State and their Big 12 slate scheduled to have four home games and five road games, it was either drop Central Michigan or Air Force. For one reason or another it was the Air Force series which got canned. Too bad the series could not be rescheduled, looking at 2016 both Oklahoma State and Air Force have room on their schedule for this game.

Maybe there will be something down the road between these two schools to play down the road.
