The 2012 NCAA Tournament bracket and field has been announced, and the Colorado State Rams are the 11th seed in the West region. The Ram's first opponent will be the 6th seed Murray State Racers, and they will play on March 15th at 12:15PM at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, KY. If the Rams win their first matchup, they will face the winner of No. 3 Marquette and No. 14 BYU on 3/17.
In the same bracket, the New Mexico Lobos are the 5th seed in the West region. The Lobo's first opponent will be the 12th seed Long Beach 49ers, and they will play on March 15th at 4:10PM at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. If the Lobos win their first matchup, they will face the winner of No. 4 Louisville and No. 13 Davidson on 3/17.
The Lobos earned the No. 5 Seed in the West Region by beating the San Diego State Aztecs to win the MW tournament, after tying SDSU in the regular season (10 - 4 in conference, but having a better overall record 27 - 6).
The Rams earned the 11th Seed in the West Region by placing 4th in the MW and compiling a 20 - 11 overall record.
