UNLV forward Mike Moser is officially listed as day-to-day after receiving an MRI on his back on Thursday. The results of the MRI were negative, and is officially dealing with a left hip flexor strain. Moser sat out the teams win over Portland on Tuesday, and the team came out flat before pulling away.
Then on Thursday during practice, Moser was shooting and doing drills off by himself. However, head coach Dave Rice is cautiously optimistic by saying that Moser is doing more each and every day.
Not having Moser against Cal on Sunday is a big deal. Cal is currently 6-1 on the year, but they are currently coming off of a bad 81-56 loss to Wisconsin this past week. This just means that Cal will be motivated to get a win, and if Moser can not play, this game will be in question.
Had the game been in Las Vegas then UNLV should easily get the win, but this game is in Berkley and UNLV will need Moser to be in the lineup to contribute his 12 points and nine rebounds per game to get past Cal this Sunday.
