The Nevada Wolf Pack are losing their best offensive weapon from the 2012 season in starting running back Stefphon Jefferson. Reports are coming out that Jefferson has signed with Kelli Master Management, and if that is correct then he is on his way to the 2013 NFL Draft.
One has to wonder if Chris Ault's decision to step down had to influence Jefferson's decision, because the 2013 team was to havea very good offense with quarterback Cody Fajardo still under center. Learning a new system, which could possibly be less running back friendly, had to be an issue too. Plus there is not much more Jefferson could do to impress scouts, well there is is fumbling issue, but as for on field performance Jefferson is ready to test the NFL waters.
With the Jefferson news so new, there is not a lot of new information on his 2013 status. However, NFLDraftscout.com rates Jefferson as the No. 6 running back in the 2014 class.
Jefferson's season was amazing as he was the nation's second leading rusher averaging 144.8 yards per game, with 24 rushing touchdowns. He will be a big loss and will be tough to replace.
