Mountain West football, basketball open thread

There are three big games going on in the world of Mountain West sports on Saturday, two basketball games and one football games.

There are three notable games on the Mountain West docket for Saturday. There are a pair of big basketball games as well as the Armed Forces Bowl.

Here is Saturday's schedule of games:

Armed Forces Bowl: Air Force vs. Rice, 11:45 a.m. ET on ESPN/WatchESPN

No. 20 UNLV vs. North Carolina, 2 p.m. ET on ESPN2/WatchESPN

Metro PCS Orange Bowl Sunrise Classic: Air Force vs.NO. 14 Florida 4:30 p.m. ET on FSN

These are some huge games, especially on the basketball side. UNLV is looking to win their second straight game against UNLV, the Rebels won last year when UNC was No. 1 in the country. This time around it is UNLV who is ranked while UNC is not.

Air Force is 8-2, but they have not really have any high quality wins. Their two loses came to a pair of solid teams in Colorado and Wichita State. This will be the toughest test for Air Force this year, and will be a good game with conference play just around the corner.

Air Force vs. Rice is the final Mountain West football game of the year, so take it in and enjoy a pair of run orientated teams.
