CBS sports is reporting Chris Ault will announce his retirement today at a scheduled press conference set for 1:30 pm PST. The press conference was originally announced to talk about the "future and direction of the Wolf Pack football program", though this would come as a shock to many who follow the program. The 66-year-old Ault has a 233-109-1 record over 28 seasons as head coach at Nevada.
More will be known once the press conference gets underway, and its as of yet unclear whether Ault will be back for one more year or call it a career effective immediately. One possible speculative candidate for head coach would be current OC Nick Rolovich, but that's simply a guess on my part.
