College football rankings: Boise State remains at No. 15 in coaches poll

Boise State moved up in the coaches poll to No. 15, and keep a slim shot of a BCS bowl game alive.

Otto Kitsinger III

Boise State took control of their own business on Saturday when they defeated Nevada on Saturday afternoon. The early indication was that Boise State would move up to No. 14 after Nebraska lost to Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game, but somehow Oregon State moved up three spots after beating, wait for it, Nicholls St.

That makes no sense for Oregon State to move up any spots, let alone three. With Boise State at 15 they are one spot ahead of Northern Illinois. The two will be battling it out for a possibly BCS bowl berth.

Also, what does San Diego State have to do to be ranked. The Aztecs are 9-3, are on a seven game winning streak and yet somehow Texas and Michigan who have four losses are ranked as is a five-loss Big Ten champion Wisconsin. San Diego State is receiving votes, and must might have a shot to be ranked if they get past BYU in the Poinsettia Bowl.
