One of Hawai'i's more prominent 2013 verbal recruit is Waianae High defensive tackle Kennedy Tulimasealii. Tulimasealii is a two- or three-star recruit by the different services, but the 6'1", 300-pound defensive tackle was recently named to the 2012 Under Armour All-America game.
Other schools have stepped forward to make an offer ever since he committed to Hawai'i, but Tulimasealii so far is staying true to his verbal commit. The other schools who have came in with an offer are Utah, Colorado and UCLA. If Tulimasealii has a big performance in this All-Star game there are likely to be other schools that will step in and try to snag Tulimasealii away from Hawaii.
Raw and potential are words that are being tossed around to describe Tulimasealii, he has the size at 300 pounds and the recruiting experts say he carries that weight well with his frame. He has the ability to be explosive off the ball and is capable of being one of the first guys off of the line of scrimmage.
When is one of the first off the line he can create disruption with that quick penetration, and that allows him to get in the backfield to disrupt plays. However, when he does not get off the line first he can struggle to regroup and get after the ball carrier. He still needs work to be a better pass rusher as well, but with good coaching he could become a very good player.
The Under Armour All-America game takes plays in St. Peterburg, Fla., on Friday Jan. 4.
