The BYU Cougars had their first real practice in preparation for the Poinsettia Bowl on Monday, and at practice head coach Bronco Mendenhall addressed the media. The big question was the health of quarterback Riley Nelson, and if he will have healed from his rib injury which he sustained against San Jose State.
Mendenhall said that Nelson only practiced some and that backup quarterback James Lark took the majority of the snaps on Monday. Also, if there was a game in the next few days Nelson would not be healthy, and his status for the Poinsettia Bowl is still very much in question.
