Fresno St. Bulldogs top recruit Robert Upshaw suffered an undisclosed a leg injury last week, and has already been ruled out from their season-opening game against Texas. The latest is that Upshaw will be out for at least another 2 to 4 weeks.
The earliest that Upshaw would return is mid-November, but if he miss the entire month he would miss six games and return on Dec. 6 at home against the Long Beach St. 49ers. Losing Upshaw is a big loss as he was to be a big time contributor this year, but league play is when the Bulldogs really need his play.
Assuming that his leg injury is not too severe, Upshaw should be good to go after a month of playing in non-league games to get used to the college game. Then be running on all cylinders in their conference opener against the San Diego St. Aztecs at home on Jan. 9.
