Even though Boise State beat a Conference USA contender by a wide margin, it was not enough for voters to put the idle Stanford Cardinal above Boise State. To be fair the difference between Boise State and Stanford in week four was only four points in favor fo Boise, and this week both Stanford and Boise picked up more points and the difference is still slim with a mere two-point advantage over Boise State.
TCU stays at No. 20 in both polls after defeating Portland State and Air Force earns one vote in the coaches poll.
