Wyoming Will Wear Traditional Uniforms In Season Opener

During the summer Wyoming introduced a brown helmet to give the team more uniform options, and the athletic department decided to have fans vote on what the team should wear for the season opener. The final vote came out to be the traditional Wyoming home uniform:

In what was a close vote among more than 12,000 votes cast by Cowboy fans, the traditional home combination of brown jersey and gold pants won out. The traditional white helmet with brown Bucking Horse and Rider logo also came in first.

Coming in a close second was the combination of gold jersey and brown pants, with Wyoming's new brown helmet being a close second choice.

"We had a great response from our fans," said Christensen. "Our traditional uniform combination (brown jersey and gold pants) and white helmet came out the slight winner.

Odds are that the people who voted for some sort of brown helmet combination split the vote which then allowed for the more traditional look to be used against Weber State. The brown helmets will debut in week two against Texas State with a gold jersey and brown pants. Not having the brown helmets on display for week one is actually a good thing since that game is not being televised.
