Late Monday night, Demetris Morant gave Dave Rice a call and told him he wanted to be a Rebel. That is great news for what is shaping up to be a very good 2012 recruiting class. UNLV has already signed Katin Reindhart and Da'Quan Cook, who are both very good players (Reinhardt in particular is in the Rivals Top 50). Morant is 6'9" and will most likely play the five position in UNLV's offense. He is also ranked in the Rivals Top 150 which makes this signing look even better.
Morant was scheduled to take a visit to San Diego State this weekend but he decided that he wanted to come to UNLV.
"I just felt that I was ready," he said. "The biggest thing was the coaching staff. I just get along with them really well and I can see that they'll treat me like family when I get there. Also, I've been hearing about the style of play they'll have, and I think I'll fit in really well within that offense."
Morant is a raw offensive player, but has amazing leaping ability. Just watch this video:
