Air Force Vs. Navy Game Moved To CBS

Air Force travels to Annapolis, Md., on Oct. 1 to take on the Navy Midshipman and the game has been bumped up from CBS Sports Network to over-the-air CBS. The game time has also moved from 3:30 p.m. ET to a noon ET kick off. This gives CBS Sports a rare triple-header football Saturday. The other two games are a 3:30 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET kick for an SEC game of the week.

The move has nothing to do with the Mountain West television deal since it is a road non-conference game, but nonetheless this is a good move to put this game on CBS. The Army-Navy game gets all the publicity between the Service Academy schools, but to be blunt, Army has not been good the past few years and the games between Navy and Air Force have been good games. My opinion is that all Commander-in-Chief games should be on CBS since each school has a contract with the company.

This will be the first nationally broadcast regular season game for a Mountain West school in a long time. The last over-the-air regular season football game took place was during the 2005 season with a Utah vs. San Diego State game, but that was a regional game, so this game might be a first for Mountain West football.
