Phil Steele Has Boise State In The Fiesta Bowl Against Notre Dame

Here are some more nuggets from Phil Steele's college football preview magazine. Last time it  was about national rankings while this latest is the projected bowl lineup for the Mountain West teams.  The Mountain West has four bowl tie-ins and with Boise State going to a BCS game the league will need a fifth team to become bowl eligible to fulfill their four bowl slots.

Here are the bowl projections.

Fiesta Bowl

Boise State vs. Notre Dame

Steele is high on the Irish -- as he has been the past few years -- and has them sixth in his 2011 projected top-40 rankings.

Poinsettia Bowl

Nevada vs. Air Force

A preview of future conference members. Having Nevada in a bowl game means they should not completely fall off the map.

Independence Bowl

San Diego State vs. Boston College

Back-to-back bowl games by the Aztecs since they appeared in the 1966 and 1967 Camellia Bowl.

Las Vegas Bowl

TCU vs. Oregon State

TCU could be a top-15 team or higher and heading to the Las Vegas Bowl to take on the fifth-rated Pac-12 team that will probably be 7-5.

New Mexico Bowl

Colorado State vs. Washington

This would be a big jump for Colorado State since their past two years have been awful.
