Isaac Hamilton, a Five Star recruit according to Rivals.com, listed UNLV along with St. John's and Arizona in his Top Three schools in a recent interview with PointGuardU.com. Hamilton is a shooting guard in the 2013 recruiting class and is the younger brother of current Texas guard Jordan Hamilton. Hamilton has also heard from UCLA, USC, Washington and UConn.
"UCLA, USC, Washington, UConn," Hamilton listed. "But UNLV, St. John's and Arizona stand out."
Hamilton is 6'4" and is already very versatile on the offensive end as a freshman. Isaac shoots upwards of 40% from the field and can take almost anyone off the dribble and score. Hamilton not only score, but he can pass as well. He thinks of himself as a combination of a 1 and 2 as he likes to spread the ball around and create open opportunities for his teammates.
He said he was really impressed by Arizona's run in the NCAA Tournament and "Didn't know that they were that good." The good news for the Runnin' Rebels is that Hamilton has to wait for 3 years until he can sign his letter of intent and UNLV could make up some ground on the Los Angeles native during that time.
Hamilton's only current downside is the fact that he is only 160 lbs. and needs to bulk up. That shouldn't be much of an issue once he goes through a couple more years in high school. It's great to see UNLV being mentioned as possible landing points for some of these big-time recruits.
