2011 NFL Draft: Boise State's WR Titus Young goes 44th overall to the Detroit Lions

Former Boise State Wide Receiver Titus Young has come off the board a little bit earlier than expected and to a team that most weren't expecting him to go: the Detroit Lions. Young becomes the third Mountain West player taken in this year's draft.

So far, the Lions draft is looking pretty well. In the first round they drafted Nick Fairley and have now drafted Titus Young. Young gives them another deep threat to take some of the pressure off of star wide receiver Calvin Johnson and Fairley forces teams to pick their poison along the offensive line when choosing who to double between Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley.

Luckily, Young won't come in and be expected to be the star guy since Calvin Johnson is already there. This is another solid pick for the Lions and it looks like their team is finally starting to come out of the dark ages after Matt Millen left.
