So Andy Dalton didn't get taken in the first round, but Dalton did go 35th overall to the Bengals, as was predicted in many second round mock drafts. Dalton definitely fits Jon Gruden's new offense at Cincinnati and should see some playing time since Carson Palmer has given the Bengals an ultimatum of "Trade me or I'm retiring." In otherwords, Andy Dalton has to be the early favorite to be under center for the Bengals next season.
Dalton is the first player from a Mountain West Team to get taken off the board and that was expected. He was expected to go in the first round last night, but wasn't drafted until today. It will be interesting to see if the Bengals decide to sign anyone to create some competition at the position, but Dalton is very thourough when it comes to studying football, as was shown when Dalton aced his exam on the Miami Dolphins playbook.
