2011 NFL Draft: Will Andy Dalton Be Picked In The First Round

The first round of the 2011 NFL Draft is almost halfway over and so far there have been four quarterbacks taken off the board.

  1. Auburn's Cam Newton went No. 1 overall to the Carolina Panthers.
  2. Washington's Jake Locker went No. 8 overall to the Tennessee Titans.
  3. Missouri's Blaine Gabbert went No. 10 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jags traded with Washington for this pick.
  4. Florida State's Christian Ponder went No. 12 overall to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings selection of Ponder is a shocker to be taken that high, I am sure that they could have traded down and or could have traded back up in the later part of the first round to get Ponder. Earlier in the week, the mock drafts and rumors had Dalton going in the first round and possibly to Tennessee because the offensive staff loved him, but apparently not enough.

The only team left in the first round that shown interest is the Seattle Seahawks, so unless a team like the Cincinnati Bengals who have shown big time interest in Dalton. The other possibility is for San Francisco 49ers to move back into the first round to take Dalton.

My gut tells me he is going to the Bengals, but not until tomorrow.
