NFL Draft 2011: NFL Scouts Question Andy Dalton Due To His Red Hair

NFL scouts are very particular when evaluating prospects and go through anything and everything to try to find out what type of player they will be. However, Sports Illustrated's Peter King reports that at least one NFL coach is concerned about Dalton because he is a ginger:

"Has there ever been a red-headed quarterback in the NFL who's really done well?" a coach asked the media last week. "It sounds idiotic, but is there any way that could be a factor? We've wondered."

Really? That is why he will not be a good NFL quarterback because of his hair color.

There is a lack of red-headed quarterbacks in the NFL, but to say it will have an effect of his play at the NFL is completely insane. I am sure the coach was not from the Miami Dolphins were impressed with Dalton, because the Dolphins handed him a partial playbook of 100-plus formation. Dalton had three days to look over the details but was only able to study the day before he met due to other workouts and a wedding he attended, and Dalton believed he aced the board test.

I get scouts and coaches want to be thorough, but this is just a bit much.
