Border War Heads to Laramie

New, comments

The Colorado State Rams and Wyoming Cowboys start off the second half of their conference play in similar ways.  Both teams are coming of tough close home losses to top ten ranked opponents in BYU and SDSU.  Wyoming was within one possession of BYU with :30 seconds left but couldn't muster a win.  CSU had it tied down to the final seconds before SDSU's DJ Gay hit one of the biggest shots of the season for the Aztecs.

The Pokes are losers of six straight games and their only conference win comes against New Mexico.  They lost to CSU in Fort Collins 73-60 in the MWC opener for both teams.  Desmar Jackson is the main threat for Wyoming at 15.8 ppg.

The Rams are sitting just outside the NCAA tournament and cannot afford a loss to a team under them in the standings.  They have the bottom MWC teams on the road in the second half of their schedule which will give them a good test to see if they should be in the NCAA tournament come March.

The game tips off at 6 MST.  Usually if these two teams are playing and your not a fan of either team I would say skip it and check the box score.  But wait there is a caveat!  The Border War games are always intense, more so if Wyoming knows they can ruin the Rams season with one big game tonight.  The 213th Border War should be a doosie.
