Mountain West Football 2011 Spring Dates Announced

College football has been done since Jan. 10, but spring practices are just around the corner. Duke and Army began spring drills today and Stanford is up next and begins on Monday. As for the Mountain West, Air Force is up first and starts their spring practice on Wednesday Feb. 23 ending with their spring game on March 16. San Diego State and UNLV begin practice this month as well.

There will be some intrigue this spring as Boise State comes into the league, San Diego State has a new head coach and we will see how TCU will handle their Rose Bowl victory (probably fine).

With Utah and BYU out of the Mountain West the league will need to find a few new teams to spot light to the national media. Boise State and TCU fight the mold, but look for Air Force and San Diego State to pick up the slack as they are the consensus to challenge Boise State and TCU for the conference title.

Here are the dates, so enjoy the spring football, because once May hits college football is still four months away.

School Spring Practice Spring Game
Air Force Falcons February 23 March 16
Boise State Broncos March 7 April 16
Colorado State Rams March 24 April 23
New Mexico Lobos March 22 April 16
San Diego State Aztecs February 26 April 4
TCU Horned Frogs March 4 April 2
UNLV Rebels February 28 April 2
Wyoming Cowboys March 5 April 9
