College Basketball Rankings Week 2: AP Poll Gives Consideration To UNLV, New Mexico, San Diego State

The latest college basketball AP poll is out and there are now three Mountain West teams gaining consideration with the New Mexico Lobos receiving 34 points, the UNLV Running Rebels gaining nine points and the San Diego St. Aztecs getting three points.

San Diego State has the best chance to move into the rankings when travel to Waco, Texas to take on the No. 11 Baylor Bears in part of the 24-hour hoops marathon on ESPN.

Getting Mountain West teams in the polls will happen, but it seems to take a few weeks before things settle out and the Mountain West teams move up in the top 25. So for now, we wait at least one more week before teams get into the AP poll.
