Air Force Falcons - Air Force is falling apart some this year and the loss to Wyoming puts their bowl eligibility on notice. Seven wins are needed since Air Force played two FCS schools. Also, quarterback Tim Jefferson left the game with a concussion and his status for Saturday is unclear at this team.
Boise St. Broncos - While the kicker gets the blame for the loss, (some should be pointed that way) but injuries to the secondary is what did in Boise State against TCU. Also, Boise State was without two key players in defensive tackle Billy Winn and running back Doug Martin. Not making excuses but the depth was not there for Boise State.
Colorado St. Rams - I think I should stop saying the running game is terrible. Chris Nwoke had 232 yards on the ground with a 10.5 yard per carry average and a score. Colorado State's defense held San Diego State running back Ronnie Hillman to only 80 yards.
San Diego St. Aztecs - The offense could not get going and was held in check against Colorado State. San Diego State got the win but the offense struggled and Ryan Lindley had another subpar performance with 154 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Ronnie Hillman was held to 80 yards and was only his second game under 100 yards on the season.
TCU Horned Frogs - The passing game came alive as Casey Pachall had a career day with 473 yards and five touchdowns. With the running game non-existent TCU took to the air and made a gutsy call for the win on the two-point try. The defense is not quite there, but they did get to Kellen Moore.
UNLV Rebels - You lose to New Mexico, that is bad. New Mexico did play with freshman quarterback Taylor Barnhill due to Sean Reilly being ineffective and Caleb Herring out with an injury and went 7-of-10 for 54 yards but he did rush for 77 yards. The bright spot is the running game Dionza Bradford had 152 yards. The defense disappointed in this game and gave up 274 yards in the air.
New Mexico Lobos - B.R. Holbrook had his best game of the year and shredded the UNLV defense for 274 yards and a touchdown. Also the running game came alive as Crusoe Gongbay had 93 yards to help get New Mexico's first win.
Wyoming Cowboys - The most surprise team in the league is this Wyoming team. They upset Air Force by way of the running game that did fine with true freshman Kody Sutton doing just fine in his first ever game and finished with 56 yards. As a unit the rushing team gained 212 yards. The defense did their thing by forcing four turnovers to assist in the upset. Wyoming is now one win away from being bowl eligible and they should as two of their three remaining games are against Colorado State and New Mexico.
