The top seed has fallen as Stanford out lasted Auburn to move onto the finals. The other semifinal matchup is between two future conference mates -- and non-BCS teams -- with Boise State traveling to TCU. These two teams have meet the past two seasons splitting each game in the Poinsettia Bowl and in the Fiesta Bowl. This season both teams were to be legitimate players for the BCS title, but Boise slipped up against Nevada and TCU who went undefeated was unable to pass Auburn or Oregon.
In the simulation at What If Sports the computer says Boise State would win in a blowout by beating TCU 42-24 at the home field of TCU. The player of the game would be Boise State's Doug Martin who ran for 204 yards and scored five of Boise State's touchdowns.
I am very surprised by this score and I ran the simulation once to post here, but when I did it multiple times it had Boise State winning in blowout fashion nearly every time and when the simulation had TCU winning it was a low scoring affair.
Now, it is time for the viewers to vote in this matchup to see who advances. Each matchup will be posted in the morning and lasts for 24 hours, so spread the word and vote. Also, discuss how this matchup may turn out if actually played.
