Welcome back to week two and time for some more live chattin' stay all day and talk about today's games for the Mountain West and beyond.
BYU @ Air Force 2pm MT TV: Versus
This game will decide the early leader in Mountain West play and hopefully it will be a good one. Air Force will try to snap a long losing streak to BYU, and the Falcons might be without DB Reggie Rembert which means junior Jon Davis may be called into Rembert's place. BYU is still using their two quarterback system and it will be interesting to see if they can keep up the magic they had last week.
UNLV @ Utah 2pm MT TV: The Mtn
This game is full of quarterback questions for both teams. Utah is deciding to play Jordan Wynn who sprained his thumb on his throwing hand against Pitt or to play former starter Terrance Cain. At Utah camp Cain was the better quarterback and Utah should beat UNLV with Wynn or Cain, but Ute fans will remember 2007 when there was a decision on Brian Johnson who was recovering from a shoulder separation and did not get the start. That game ended in a 27-0 win for UNLV. Speaking of the Rebels their quarterback situation comes down to who can make plays, and based on history Omar Clayton should have started over Omar Clayton in last weeks game. Once Clayton did enter he moved the ball; Bobby Hauck expects both to play.
Tennessee Tech @ TCU 6pm CT TV: none
Come on coach Patterson, if you guys are scheduling a patsy go for maybe a Sun Belt team instead of an FCS opponent.
Wyoming @ Texas 6pm CT TV: Fox Sports
This game will have a tribute since Wyoming lost a player in a car crash Monday morning. As for the game Texas should roll, but the Longhorns struggled against Wyoming for a half last year (chalk it up to the altitude) but more importantly they struggled against Rice last week. Wyoming is better then Rice, and Wyoming will need to stop an already suspect rushing defense and force Texas to pass to have any chance to stay in this game.
Texas Tech @ New Mexico 6pm MT TV: The Mtn
100 points should be the goal in this game is New Mexico is really that bad. The Lobos goal should be to score their first points of the year.
San Diego State @ New Mexico State 6pm MT TV: ESPN3.com
Time for the Aztecs to prove it against an FBS team, yes New Mexico State barely qualifies but they are better then Nicholls State. Expect a heavy does of Ryan Lidley passes to Vincent Brown and DeMarco Sampson in this game. With an Aztec win they are 1/3 of a way to a bowl game.
Colorado State @ Nevada 8:30pm MT TV: ESPNU
The Rams will be looking to stop a ten game losing streak as they face the last team they beat. Nevada runs the run happy Pistol offense with QB Colin Kapernick at the helm and just expect a lot of running. Nevada will want some revenge for losing to the Rams last year, and expect them to return the favor.
