UNLV has a new coach in Bobby Hauck which means a new offense is heading into Vegas in the form of a more pro-style offense rather then the spread that former head coach Mike Sanford ran unsuccessfully for the past few years. Whereas Wisconsin is a darkhorse Big 10 favorite lead by quarterback Scott Tolzien. The Badger defense is questionable with only six starters returning with the defensive line and secondary losing key players might allow UNLV to expose them in week one.
UNLV will still implement their spread as well as Hauck's pro-style offense, and he will not be forcing the new system in year one and not do what Rich Rodriguez tried to do at Michigan with less then stellar results.
The rankings are from the Sporting News top 100 with UNLV being unranked -- that can not be good-- and Wisconsin 8th. The last time Wisconsin took on UNLV in 2007 it was actually a close matchup with Wisconsin pulling away late. This game will be broadcast on the venerable Versus network for a late night showing with an 11 p.m. eastern kick.
