Air Force
Not much news on Air Force, but The Mtn. is starting their week long series of each school recapping the 2009-2010 school year.
Air Force has hired former South Florida assistant Andrea Williams as its new head women's basketball coach:
Williams spent two seasons at South Florida, helping lead the Bulls to a pair of WNIT appearances, including a WNIT championship during the 2008-09 campaign.
BYU
The baseball team won in a shoot out 25-18 over Utah Online classes will no longer be accepted toward NCAA eligibility.

New Mexico
Interesting situation surrounding New Mexico's Will Brown's scholarship being pulled:
In a way, it's hard to lump Brown's situation in with the usual runoff archetype -- the sleazy practice of jettisoning a bench player thanks to a coach's desire to add an incoming recruit -- we see so often in college hoops. Lots of runoff players don't have apparent behavioral issues. It's hard to criticize New Mexico for getting rid of a player that apparently violated team rules so often he felt it necessary to apologize in a handwritten letter to the local rag.
At the same time, it was just Tuesday when the Lobos trumpeted Brown's participation in a team event designed to help adoption-eligible Albuquerque youths find adoptive parents. Brown was one of several players on hand at the event, playing basketball with the kids and coordinating team activities. Reading between the lines would suggest that Brown was back in the program's good graces. Um, apparently not.
The Lobos came back from a 6-0 deficit to beat BYU in the MWC baseball tournament:
The Lobos (36-19), who trailed 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth, tied the game in the sixth when senior first baseman Justin Howard drove an 0-1 pitch over the center field wall. The home run was the 10th of the season for Howard, who ranks second in the nation in both hits (114) and batting average (.458).
That is what college baseball gets for using the aluminum bats: PING!!!!
San Diego State
Third seeded Aztecs were bounced early from the MWC baseball tournament.
In two miserable games, SDSU (28-28) saw 6th seeded Utah and 4th seeded BYU combine for 28 runs on 35 hits against them. Ace starter Addison Reed coughed up an all-time personal worst 8 runs in 6 innings. Wednesday's starter Corey Black lasted only 2 2/3's with six runs allowed. The much-maligned Aztecs bullpen lived down to its reputation as well, giving up 14 runs in 9 1/3 innings.
TCU
The Horned Frog baseball team takes on UNLV with the winner advancing to the MWC baseball title game.

The Las Vegas Review Journal is counting down the top 100 Rebel hoopsters.
Utah
As expected Utah's Marshall Henderson transfered to Texas Tech. College football zealots previews Utah:
Utah really has a tough schedule. Pitt, Iowa State, Notre Dame, TCU and BYU all could be losses if they're not careful. With that said, I expect at least ten regular season wins (which means no more than two losses) and potentially- this is just potentially -an undefeated season. So I'll pick 11-1 as a compromise. If it's 10-2, it depends on who they lose to and whether or not they win a conference championship. Anything less and I guess we'll have to take it on a game by game basis. 12-0, well damn, I'll be in heaven!
