The Wyoming Cowboys(10-19, 3-12) avoided the season sweep from Air Force(9-19, 1-14) with a 58-49 win in Laramie. This was a preview of the 8-9 play in game for the MWC tournament. Each team won the home game in the series this year.
Grant Parker and Tom Fow combined for 31 of Air Force's 49 points, Fow had 17 and Parker 14. The Falcons played well out rebounding the Cowboys and winning the turnover margin. However the Falcons couldn't capitalize as they shot just 25% from 3-point land.
Wyoming had four scorers in double digits with Djibril Thiam, Ryan Dermody, Desmar Jackson, and Daylen Harrison. Thiam led the team with 13. Wyoming had 15 made free throws which turned out to be the difference in the game as they went to the line 14 more times then the Falcons.
Air Force hosts SDSU on Saturday for their last game of the year. Wyoming will travel to UNLV in their last contest of the year.
