Not really much to say here since the Cougars have defeated TCU three times this year and is a sure bet to move onto the quarterfinals. However, for each of the past few tournaments there has been a surprise upset to make it to the quarterfinals. TCU did play BYU pretty tough in their last matchup, well for at least a half.
Look for BYU to be go bland on offense and defense if they get to a big lead which is what they should do to get their starters some rest and to give the backups the chance to play. Getting a big first half lead could be tough since the Horned Frogs love to play the slow down style of play which limits possessions.
For BYU to win this tournament it will be three games in three days, so it is in the best interest for Jimmer Fredette and the rest of the Cougars to get ahead early in this game and not allow TCU to keep it close. The best case scenario is for BYU to play the starters maybe five minutes in the second half to preserve their energy for the semis and potentially finals.
Ronnie Moss will lead the way for TCU as their leading scorer, but he will need help from others to attempt to lock down on defense against a high schoring BYU team. TCU's only chance is to play a perfect game on both sides of the ball plus a little luck, and that might not be enough.
