With the timeline now finalized for Fresno State and Nevada waiting an extra year in the WAC, questions about scheduling have now arrived for a number of schools with the MWC and WAC schools now requiring 5 non-conference games. I went to fbschedules.com and dug up tons of little nuggets as far as future non-conference games go... I'll list those here so that the people (myself included) who did not know about these games can find out. I'll simply go through the important non-conference games for the future years for MWC teams (Including Utah and BYU). There will be a post for each team on every Tuesday and Thursday and the posts will be in no specific order. If you want to find out which school's post is for that day, then follow us on Twitter for the information on when the post will be.
Fresno State
2011 Schedule - @Nebraska, North Dakota, Ole Miss, Boise State
Fresno State is one of the most fun teams to talk about when it comes to scheduling. The only one that even comes close to scheduling as tough as Fresno State in the non-conference would be a Pete Caroll USC, and that's still not close to Fresno State's scheduling. Perfect example here, @Nebraska is almost a guaranteed loss as is the home game against Boise State. Not to mention they play a bad to decent SEC team in Ole Miss. This is what always seems to be Fresno State's downfall, a brutal non-conference schedule doesn't let them get to ten wins, especially with Boise State and Nevada in the conference as well.
2012 Schedule - Colorado
This surprises me that Pat Hill hasn't scheduled very much for 2012, but at least Colorado is a big name and the Bulldogs could receive some respect for beating a Pac-12 team. Knowing Pat Hill, @Alabama, @Ohio State, and @Oregon will probably round out the schedule...
2013 Schedule - Rutgers, Cal Poly, @Colorado
Looks like some very winnable games against bad BCS teams, Rutgers and Colorado should both be very winnable games and both will garner some respect. Although I think Pat Hill wants to schedule that big name, Top 15 opponent that the Bulldogs seem to face every year. Of course he might actually realize that if he wants to possibly get 10 wins he'll have to have another easy game in the non-conference and schedule another winnable game against a BCS team.
Other Non-Conference Games -
2014 - Nebraska
2015 - @Ole Miss
2016 - @Nebraska
TBA - @Colorado
Bits on the 2014+ Games -
It will be interesting to see if Fresno State performs well before the home crowd against Nebraska. That would definitely open some eyes about how good Fresno State is. I'm not sure why the road game against Colorado hasn't been scheduled yet.
