Crisis Averted: Frogs Will "Purple Up" In Pasadena

Tcu_4_medium

After seeing TCU's new Nike uniforms unveiled the majority of Frog fans were upset that there was more red on the uniforms than purple and they took to the internet to voice their displeasure.  Message received, loud and clear.  TCU Athletic Director, Chris Del Conte. had this to say in his weekly newsletter, "Notes On A Scorecard."

There's been a lot of talk about our new Nike uniforms that were unveiled Tuesday. We've heard directly from many of you and want you to know that Coach Patterson will make sure we're "Purpled Up" when we take the field in Pasadena. Along those lines, we want to make sure all of you are "Purpled Up" as well. As a follow-up to the great success we had with our "White Out" in Salt Lake City, we'll be looking to paint Southern California purple. Our on-line store (http://shop.gofrogs.com) and the TCU Bookstore are great places to start. Please make sure to wear purple leading up to the game and especially when entering the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day.

I am very glad Del Conte came out with this today because I had the opportunity to speak with him on the phone last night and he told me we would be in purple but that he wanted it kept a secret, and quite frankly the secret was eating me alive.  Bottom line, Del Conte is the man, AD of the year in my opinion.
