Rivals100 Athlete Commits to TCU

LaDarius Brown of Waxahchie, TX ended the speculation today and crushed the hopes of Aggies everywhere by choosing the TCU Horned Frogs over Texas A&M, who made it into his final two.  Brown is a highly regarded high school prospect who instantly becomes the marquee signee of the Horned Frogs 2011 recruiting class which is now ranked 25th in the nation.  A 4-star recruit, Brown made the Rivals100 list and was ranked as the 44th best player in the nation, and 5th in the state of Texas.  Brown has an impressive offer sheet that includes Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Texas A&M among others.

Rivals designates Brown as an "athlete" as he has the physical tools at 6"2" & 190 lbs to play either safety or wide receiver but for now it would appear he will be playing offense for the Frogs.  Recruiting analyst Barry Every of Rivals.com was reminded of LSU's Reuben Randle when scouting LaDarius Brown and had this to say about him, "Brown has superior overall athleticism and should be the type of player, if focused, that becomes all-conference." Given the fact that TCU stands to lose the bulk of it's receiving core (Kerley, Young, Johnson, Clay) to graduation I would suspect that Brown will make an immediate impact and possibly work his way into the starting lineup in 2011 for the MWC farewell tour.

Bottom line is this is a major coup for Gary Patterson and his staff and with all the added excitement around the program from the Rose Bowl bid, new stadium renovations, and Big East invitation I think this is a sign of things to come for the Frogs.
