Future Non-Conference Games: UNLV

With the timeline now finalized for Fresno State and Nevada waiting an extra year in the WAC, questions about scheduling have now arrived for a number of schools with the MWC and WAC schools now requiring 5 non-conference games. I went to fbschedules.com and dug up tons of little nuggets as far as future non-conference games go... I'll list those here so that the people (myself included) who did not know about these games can find out. I'll simply go through the important non-conference games for the future years for MWC teams (Including Utah and BYU). There will be a post for each team on every Tuesday and Thursday and the posts will be in no specific order. If you want to find out which school's post is for that day, then follow us on Twitter for the information on when the post will be.

UNLV

2011 Schedule - @Wisconsin, @Washington State, Hawaii, Southern Utah, Nevada

For whatever reason it is not a true home game for Washington State and they are instead choosing to move the game to Qwest Field. I really don't understand why they are doing that, because both teams suck and maybe 15,000 people will show up to Qwest Field for the game.

2012 Schedule - Minnesota, Washington State, @Hawaii

Seems to me like this schedule is now full. Originally UNLV had a road game to Reno scheduled in the non-con, but with Nevada now joining the conference in 2012, that will become a conference game. Unless we add two more teams before July 1, 2011, then we will be playing 9 conference games. That means that the 3 non-conference games are full, right? I bring you back to this season where UNLV has 13 regular season games because of the road game to Hawaii, that should happen again in 2012 which means that UNLV still has one more slot for the 2012 season. Another thing is that apparently we have a home and home series with Minnesota as we get Minny at home this season and travel to Minneapolis in 2013.

 2013 Schedule - @Minnesota, Arizona

Once again, for whatever reason FBSchedules.com has not updated UNLV's future schedule to show that Nevada is now a conference game and should not be listed as non-conference for the 2013 season. Arizona has a home and home scheduled with us, much like Wisconsin does with the first game being played in Sam Boyd Stadium and then the 2014 game in Tuscon. Lot of room to put down some easy wins on the schedule so that UNLV has the opportunity to maybe go to a bowl game this year. Our series with Hawaii doesn't continue again until 2014 with this year apparently being an off year.

Other Non-Conference games -

2014 - @Arizona, Navy, @Hawaii

2015 - @Navy, UCLA, Hawaii

2016 - @UCLA, Navy

2017- Hawaii, @Navy

2018 - @Hawaii

2020- @Iowa State

2021- Iowa State

Bits on the 2014+ games -

Is it just me or is UNLV doing pretty well as far as scheduling goes? Home and home with Arizona, UCLA, Navy and Hawaii, that's got to be pretty good. Another thing - why are we scheduling games for 10-11 years from now?
