The two polls that matter -- the USA Today and Harris -- rewarded Auburn for beating a now 3-5 Ole Miss team ahead of Boise State. The Broncos beat Louisiana Tech, who by the way is also now 3-5, but at least La. Tech beat their FCS opponent in Grambling State. Ole Miss lost to Jacksonville State in week one, so in some strange universe that means Auburn is better then Boise?
Or, it was just an excuse to move up Auburn since they beat Ole Miss by a single point more then Boise State did. Auburn won 51-20 where Boise won 49-20, I know we are splitting hairs here, but shouldn't the higher ranked team remain the same after a similar outcome from an equal opponent.
Guess not, since Auburn has the SEC branding.
Here is the Harris Poll.
