College Football Rankings Week Nine: Those Sneaky Spartans Continue To Climb In The Polls

Really? How does Michigan State move up ahead of Alabama for needing a 17 point comeback against Northwestern. On the other side of the coin, Alabama smoked Tennessee 41-10 and the Spartns move up. We will see next week when Sparty plays at Iowa. TCU still has a pretty big lead on Michigan State, at this time.

Looky, looky! Baylor is ranked for the first time in a very, very long time. Nevada is just on the cusp of being ranked as they sit at 26th in the 'others receiving votes' category and is only two points behind  25th Michigan.

Utah held off Missouri even though they beat Oklahoma, but the margin is slim at 31 points. San Diego State received three points and Air Force is sitting at one point. Had San Diego State beaten New Mexico more then the 30-20 margin they would have received some more recognition.

Boise State is within 100 points of Oregon and they will need all the points they can get to stay in the discussion for the BCS title game.
