Oregon had the best week, by relaxing in their recliner and now are number one in the coaches poll. Good work Ducks.
Even though Utah played a so-so game against Wyoming, they moved ahead of Ohio State -- who was the prior number one -- in the coaches poll. That is somewhat odd since they lost to a top 20 Wisconsin team, but last week Alabama lost by a similar margin to a similarly ranked South Carolina barely dropped. Air Force and Nevada plummeted out of the polls. I don't think Nevada deserved to drop all the way out since they lost by six on the road to Hawaii, and I am fairly confident that Nevada is better then Mississippi State and Miami, FL.
Oklahoma State and Missouri are a bit high, because looking at who they beat, here is a hing no one that good, they should not be in the top 20. Hey, what do I know; except that I am not a coach who can actually watch more of these games then the coaches do.
The top five spots are very close before the drop off from LSU begins. One interesting note in regard to the BCS standings is that it looks like there will be no undefeated SEC teams since everyone is beating each other up, and then in the Big XII Missouri controls their own destiny and could be in the Big XII title game as does Oklahoma State in the south. Texas is back in the hunt but they will need some help.
The other big issue I have is that how is Ohio State ranked ahead of Wisconsin? I did watch the first half beat down the Badgers placed on the Buckeyes, and hold off that Ohio State rally.
Northwestern? Really? They lost to Purdue last week and not sure how they are receiving votes.
