Against the Spread Week 7: In the Black Edition

(via Hazboy)
(via Hazboy)

Last Week: 5-2
Overall: 18-15-3

Air Force Falcons -1 @ San Diego State Aztecs
Lock of the week, book it. SDSU has dropped three straight to the Falcons but this is unquestionably the saltiest team the Aztecs have had in a long time. The mindset of the Aztecs is going to be a major factor in this game coming off another heartbreaking loss at the hands of the refs, if they show up at kickoff with anything other than 100 percent focus then they are going to have a tough time against a determined and surprisingly athletic Air Force squad. As long as the AFA corners can challenge Ryan Lindley and the SDSU passing attack and stall out some drives the offense should be able to play keep-away and drain the clock with their multi-faceted option attack. Prediction: AFA 24 SDSU 20

Utah Utes -20
@ Wyoming Cowboys
The way that the Utes are lighting up the scoreboard and even with Austyn Carta-Samuels likely to play I look for the spread to be covered by the end of the 1st quarter. Prediction: Utah 48 Wyoming 17

USC Trojans -2.5 vs. Cal Bears
I was pretty impressed by how the Trojans played last week and after two tough conference losses by a combined 3 points I see a big bounce-back home game for USC. Cal is 0-2 on the road so far this season and I couldn't be more unimpressed with Cal QB Kevin RileyPrediction: USC 31 Cal 14

Honorable Mentions:
Games that I liked but didn't quite make the cut.

Ohio State -4 @ Wisconsin
Oregon State -1 @ Washington
Iowa -3 @ Michigan
Texas +9.5 @ Nebraska
Navy -1.5 vs. SMU
Pitt +1 @ Syracuse
