If College Football Had a Playoff: #1 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. #4 TCU Horned Frogs

The semis are set and this game would take place on a neutral field at one of the current major bowl games, and too some this should be Thursday's national title game. No doubt this would be a great game featuring two of the nation's top defense and it would be great to see if the TCU rush defense that gives up 80 yards per game can slow down Heisman Trophy winner RB Mark Ingram. The same can go for the 'Bama rush defense that gives up 79, but the big difference would be that TCU has five backs that average 40 per game.

This would just be a fascinating game with two great coaches and two teams that have been very good the past few years.

Now, it is time to turn to What if Sports to see what their simulation gives us. They predict a win by Alabama but only by a slim 19-13 margin. This would be a slug fest game with both teams being able to run, but the passing game was thwarted. Mark Ingram was the player of the game being able to rush for 122 yards and a score, while the TCU rushing game picked up 191 total yards. The game was 10-10 at the end of the first and looked to be a high scoring game, but once the defenses figured each other out only the kickers were able to score points.

Too bad this game could not be Thursday's game or be an actual semi-final game.

Now it is time for the fan vote to decide who moves on, yes that is you. Check back daily at 12 PM eastern time to vote for the next matchup, and voting is only for 24 hours. As they say in Chicago vote early and vote often.
