Streaks on the Line at The Pit When Colorado State Visits New Mexico

The New Mexico Lobos(17-3, 3-2) put their three game conference win streak on the line against Colorado State(11-7, 2-2) who has a two game conference losing streak.  The Rams have lost to top teams BYU and UNLV and it won't get easier in The Pit versus New Mexico.  The Lobos are looking to get back on top of the conference after a 0-2 stumble to start MWC play. Catch more after the jump...

The Rams were in a very close game against UNLV and should have won if you ask Tim Miles or any of the Rams, but it goes down in the loss column no matter what.  The Rams should be looking at this game as a chance to prove themselves on the road in a very tough place to play.  Last time they attempted this BYU beat them 91 - 47.  Travis Franklin has been playing well even if his free throw shooting killed them against UNLV.  Dorian Green also shined against UNLV and will look to have his first effective MWC road game.  Andy Ogide is a big part of the CSU offense but you never know if you will get the 22 points 6 rebound Ogide or the 4 points 2 rebounds Ogide.  His performance was another big reason the Rams failed to take down UNLV at Moby, he will be big in keeping the Rams close at the Lobos.

For New Mexico it is about getting back the swagger and intensity to take them back to the top of the MWC.  Another solid win at The Pit would get those things back before BYU visits next week in a huge game.  In their 70-68 road win at Wyoming they had streaks of looking like a NCAA team and streaks where Wyoming looked like the better team.  Laramie is a tough place to play this year so the win was good, but if they play like that against BYU they will lose.  The Lobos better not play how this article is going and over look the Rams.  The Rams have something to prove after the BYU blowout and UNLV close loss.  Darington Hobson and Dairese Gary could have big games as their athleticism will out match the CSU defenders.  With their crowd and athleticism the Lobos could have a big day against the poor road team from Fort Collins.

This one gets the early start on the MTN at 1:30PM MST.
