New Mexico Heads to Air Force Academy for Hoops Tussle

Air Force (8-8, 0-3) continues a tough opening conference schedule as they host a struggling New Mexico (16-3, 2-2).  New Mexico is not struggling to win any games, just big ones.  Playing at Air Force should give them a chance to get stay on track after their 70-68 win at Wyoming.  Air Force is coming off a tough home loss against BYU where they played decent but were just outmatched by the Cougars.

The Lobos are lead in scoring by Darington Hobson with 16.2 a game.  They are a much more athletic team then Air Force and could be able to put up big points if their shooters are on tonight.  The Air Force defense is limiting teams to 61 points a game but have only held TCU in that range in conference play so far. The Air Force defense and game pace will have to keep them in it as once again they are just no match 1 on 1 with the Lobos.

Air Force will look to big man Grant Parker and his 17.1 points per game to control the game.  Air Force is 3rd in the conference shooting 45.7% from the field which can keep them in games. New Mexico comes below them at 44%.  However those marks can be chalked up to the level of opponent as Air Force had a soft non-conference schedule.  They got a taste of their first big team in BYU so we will see what they learned as they take on New Mexico tonight at home.

This game did not make theMTN lineup tonight so check your local radios if you want to catch the action.
