Making The Rounds: A Rough Week for the Mountain West

Air Force

Linebacker Andre Morris, Jr. was named Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week after seven tackles and two sacks.  Starting QB Tim Jefferson injured his ankle against New Mexico, and if he can not go then Connor Dietz will get the nod.

BYU

The Cougar defense reverts to old self, and so does the offense.  Bronco expected Cougs to be 2-1 at this point, and FSU made the win look real easy.

Colorado State

That other undefeated team in the MWC resides in Fort Collins.  The Rams are bolstering their facilities to compete with the big boys.  Rams matchup against Idaho gets moved from Altitude to ESPNU.

New Mexico

Turnovers contribute to loss against the Air Force.  Real chance for first win comes against rival New Mexico State.

San Diego State

The Aztecs pick up #132 rated WR David Lamar.  In a winnable game against Idaho San Diego State is plauged by mistakes.  This loss extends their road losing streak to nine.

TCU

The Horned Frogs struggled to get to 2-0 against Texas State; while Clemson will be much tougher.   However the team is not worried about the slow start

UNLV

The Rebels won in a shootout over Hawaii as QB Omar Clayton was named MWC player of the week.
