New Mexico vs Air Force Postgame

The Air Force Falcons (2-1, 1-0) started off their conference schedule with a 37-13 win over the New Mexico Lobos (0-3, 0-1).  The Falcons ground attack ran for 298 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.  New Mexico managed to get their first offensive touchdown.

The story for Air Force beyond the win was when QB Tim Jefferson was injured half way through the first quarter and was carted off the field.  Connor Dietz replaced him and passed for 40 yards while running for 23 yards.  Asher Clark lead the Falcons with 86 yards.  Kicker Eric Soderberg was 3 for 5 on field goal attempts.

Air Force safety Jon Davis had two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.

New Mexico got their first offensive touchdown courtesy of a James Wright 43 yard run, Wright finished with 126 yards on 5 carries with two touchdowns.  The Lobos passing game was ugly with three interceptions split between B.R. Holbrook and Donovan Porterie, they combined for a poor 102 yards in the air.  No receiver had more then 29 yards.

Air Force looked strong as one would expect against New Mexico and was in control the whole game.  With quarterback issues plaguing both teams going into the rest of conference play we could look at this game as one that impacts all of the Mountain West.
