The 2010 recruiting class for Utah, should be better off with the Utes win in the Sugar Bowl and a number two national ranking in the AP polls.
The 2009 class was the highest rated outside of the non-BCS schools, and 2010 should be even better with the bowl win, and giving the school better brand recognition. The Utes have started recently to start to beat out a lot of the Pac-10 and Big XII schools when it comes to recruiting.

Utah will never get the top athletes that are choosing USC, Texas, Florida, etc. However they are at the level to compete with nearly all the Pac-10 with the obvious exception to USC, and a lesser extent Oregon. Same thing in the Big XII they can go up against probably every school but Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska to get recruits.
The Utes look for athletes, and along side TCU they move talented players around. Utah moved Paul Kruger from Quarterback to an NFL draft pick at defensive end, Chad Mannis also is moving from Quarterback to tight end, and DeVonte Christopher to wide receiver from quarterback.
That is how Utah makes the difference in recruiting for in comparison to the other non-BCS schools, and the lower level BCS schools.
The Utes recruiting needs for the 2010 class are the defensive line, secondary, and as always a quarterbck and wide receiver because of the type of offense they run. The Sugar Bowl win and six straight bowl wins have opened the eyes of recruits who may have never considered Utah, and it helps to have TCU and BYU being strong teams in the Mountain West.
