The Rams were picked at the bottom of most publications and by the Mountain West Coaches, well not here we choose the Rams to go 6-6 and make a bowl game.
- Lock it up… Sacramento State
- 50/50… Colorado, Houston, UNLV, TCU, @ San Diego State, @ Air Force, New Mexico, @Wyoming
- No Chance… @Cal, @Utah, BYU
- Projected Record: 6-6
The Rams were off again and on again and had to win their last two games to become bowl eligible. The Rams were lead by potential NFL player in Gartrell Johnson who had 1,476 yards and 12 scores, but Johnson was a beast and a great back. Colorado State had the potential to have a tough season, because the Rams started a first time starter in quarterback Billy Farris who passed for just under 3,000 yards.
The big time target for Colorado State was Rashaun Greer and Dion Morton who combined for just under 2,000 yards but the two combined for 13 of the teams 19 touchdown receptions. The other six, they came from tight end Kory Sperry.
Give the credit to coach Steve Fairchild who in his first year after taking over for Rams great Sonny Lubbick took this team to their first bowl game since 2005 and their first bowl win since 2001. The future looks pretty good with Coach Fairchild in Fort Collins, and look for them to be bowl eligible or better in the upcoming seasons.
Up next... Air Force Falcons.
