Wyoming fills out their Coaching Staff

University of Wyoming head football coach Dave Christensen is filling out his staff and made two new announcements for the staff. The first is Dan Hammerschmidt who is going to be the wide receivers coach. Hammershmidt held the same position from Rice University, as the receivers coach for the Owls this past season.

While at Rice he coached one of the best wide outs in the country with All-American receiver Jarett Dillard. Other accomplishments from the receiving corp are that Dillard holds the NCAA record for career touchdown receptions, with 60.

Dillard and sophomore wide receiver James Casey were both named First Team All-Conference USA in 2008 as well as having Rice ranked fifth in the nation in passing offense.

He also played his college career at Colorado State, so he is no stranger to the area and what type of players Wyoming is capable of getting. Hammerschmidt spent seven seasons at Colorado State under coach Sonny Lubick, as well.

Hammershmidt is a solid choice seeing that Christensen will be running a spread passing attack similar to what he had at Missouri.

Pete Kaligis has spent the past four seasons with Montana and now will be the new offensive line coach for Wyoming. Montana played for the FCS national championship this season, finished the year ranked No. 2 nationally. Kaligis coach senior offensive guard Colin Dow, who was named a first-team Walter Camp All-American.
