Wyoming starts 3 game series with Texas

Now this is the type of scheduling the league needs, by getting a national power to the schedule. Wyoming and Texas agreed to a 3 game set starting in 2009 with the first game to played at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, WY on Sept. 12, 2009. AD Tom Burman belive this will be the "biggest game in the history of War Memorial Stadium." That is quite the understatement to get a home game against Texas is huge, and this game looks to replace Syracuse who backed out of their deal last season to play in Laramie for the 2009 season. The games in 2010 and 2011 will be played in Austin, also in the deal Wyoming will receive $900,000 in the 2012 season and each team exchanging $250,000 in 2009 and 2010. Part of the reason this worked out is because Texas was to play Arkansas in 2009 was because the Razorbacks have a series set to go with Texas A&M starting next year, so the game with Texas and Arkansas is set to be rescheduled in 2013 or later.

Again this is huge for the Wyoming and the league to get this big time opponent, but what is more shocking is that this is not a one shot deal with Texas, but a 3 game series that includes a home game. Not to get ahead of myself, but in 2009 Wyoming will have a Senior QB in Karsteen Sweed(assuming he is still the starter) which will be a plus for the Pokes.
