2/19/08 MWC Basketball Preview

(16-10)(10-14)

Auditorium Arena 7PM MT TV:

San Diego State is desperate for a win to try to avoid BYU in the semi finals of the conference tournament. The Aztecs have lost 3 straight games and do not play on the road, and example is the 83-82 at Colorado State. Wyoming has gone 4-3 in their last 7, while that is not great it is an improvement over their early season woes. Playing in Laramie is very tough with the altitude and the crowd so SDSU better not take this team lightly. The suspension of Kyle Spain from the Aztecs does not help because he was their second leading scorer at 13.5 per game, but frosh D.J. Gay has taken over his spot and scored 21 in the loss to Utah last weekend. Wyoming has a good chance to win this game at home behind the scoring ability of Brandon Ewing, and if Wyoming can slow the game down some they could pull this off. Look for SDSU to struggle but will win this game and avoid their first 4 game losing streak since the 2004 season.
